Attorney Tom Bolt Appointed to ABA/FJE Council

Linda Klein, president of the American Bar Association, has appointed Tom Bolt, a prominent attorney from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, as a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Fund for Justice and Education Council (www.americanbar.org/fje).

Bolt is managing attorney at BoltNagi PC. His law practice focuses on business, real estate, finance and government relations. His service on the council began earlier this month.

“The Fund for Justice and Education encourages and assists lawyers throughout the United States in their efforts to reach out to their communities and help those in need,” Bolt said. “The Fund provides critical support and administers millions of dollars in funding to nearly 200 programs that offer legal assistance to those in need and helps to protect the legal rights of children, the elderly, the homeless, the disabled and the poor. Some of the programs the Fund supports are: improving the American jury system, increasing diversity in the legal profession, combating domestic violence, training in professional responsibility and addressing law practice issues. These programs encourage lawyers to foster connections with the public and exemplify the Fund’s mission of helping people and serving justice in the community,” said Bolt.

Bolt is a member of the V.I. Bar Association, where he served as president and delegate to the ABA, a commissioner of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, past president of the American Counsel Association and the ABA, where he also serves as a delegate-at-large to the ABA House of Delegates. This past year, he served as chair of the ABA Law Practice Division.

Attorney Bolt received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from Wofford College.
